On Oct. 10, Newport held their annual homecoming parade featuring Disney-themed floats and banners designed to hype the football team and showcase creativity.
The procession, organized by the student council, gathered for the parade at Newport Elementary for judging and stepped off at 6 p.m. The parade, led by the fire and ambulance companies, included the marching band, the cheerleaders, senior high class floats, club and underclassmen banners, and jeeps carrying the homecoming court.

The winners were announced later at the homecoming football game, where the Environmental Club won “best banner,” which was themed The Jungle Book, and the Class of 2029’s Beauty and the Beast-inspired design won “best float”.
