On Apr. 25, Newport’s senior class took a trip to Top Golf in King of Prussia, close to Philadelphia. Top Golf is a golf driving range with a twist: you can compete in games against your friends, hitting your ball into some of the different holes they have on the range to score points.
Twenty-seven seniors left at the beginning of the school day on Friday, arriving at Top Golf around eleven o’clock. It was tough to consistently drive the golf balls, but the range was filled with large zones to hit it into that gave varying amounts of points depending on the distance of the zone and how close to the center of the zone the ball landed. The venue also included a live leaderboard to track the progress among all the seniors.

Students were served some nice food before leaving, with roast beef, grilled chicken, green beans, macaroni and cheese, cornbread, and rolls on the menu. Filled donuts were taken to-go before visiting the King of Prussia Mall, which, ridiculously, has over 450 stores inside.
After exploring for a while, seniors made their way back to Dick’s Sporting Goods, where the group was meeting. With only 30 minutes left to make it back, many students rushed from the opposite side of the mall to get back, getting completely lost in the process. Students arrived back at the high school around six o’clock.
