Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Siege gained a lot of traction after its release in late 2015. After some time, the hype slowly faded away for most people. Also known as R6 for short, the game reached an all-time low at the end of 2022, only getting to around 45,000 people playing on Steam. Its highest-ever player count was recorded a year earlier with 199,000 people playing simultaneously. This is when one man may have single-handedly brought R6 back into the light of the public’s view.
Nicholas Stewart, otherwise known as Jynxzi, is one of the biggest streamers on Twitch. With his unique personality and entertainment prowess, he’s managed to become a powerhouse of a streamer. Averaging 70,000 people watching him at one time and reaching an all-time high of 200,000 people watching him, it’s safe to say that his fanbase is colossal. Many people like watching him because of his ability to entertain people by conversing with his Twitch chat (well, mainly his chat making fun of him for some reason), and maintaining enough charisma to keep them coming back to watch him the next time he streams.
He hit a huge boost in popularity in the second half of 2023, gaining a majority of his current followers. With his popularity growing, his fanbase started to play the game again. Both people playing the game and Jynxzi’s following grew hand in hand. Jynxzi recently won “Gamer of the Year” and “Best Breakthrough Streamer” and was a nominee for “Steamer of the Year” (despite being only a part-time streamer).
Stewart became a single person who managed to grow his following and the popularity of Rainbow 6. He consistently keeps his audience entertained and even received awards during this year’s Streamer Awards. With him always reaching new heights, it seems clear that the player and the game will continue to grow with each other.
