Meet the Buffaloes-Football players
Explosions sounded behind the bleachers, and extravagant multi-color fireworks illuminated the sky, but the real attraction was the introduction of fall student-athletes, all gathered in the middle of the football field.
The “Meet the Buffaloes” event, organized by the Varsity Club, also introduced this year’s marching band and cheerleaders, adding to the evening’s excitement. The marching band and cheer squad play a big role in school spirit. The crowd also showed their support with plenty of cheers.
Mrs. Swartz, who organized the evening, explained that the purpose of the “Meet the Buffaloes” event was to introduce our fall athletes, as well as both the new marching band and returning band members. There was also food and drinks available, and many enjoyed root beer floats from the Sweet to the Soul food truck. Hot dogs, walking tacos, soda, water, and chips were also available for purchase.
One of our fall sports athletes, Addison Otstott, commented on the event, saying
“It was really nice. I’ve never been recognized like that as a varsity athlete.” Many also enjoyed the bonfire, which was tall and beautiful, and many enjoyed the flamboyant fireworks that went off nearby behind the crowd. The event only lasted about an hour and a half, but this “Meet the Buffaloes” event was a great way to kick off the school year and bring everyone together.
