Seven student-athletes at signing day
On April 29, 2025, Newport High School held its annual signing day ceremony for all student-athletes who have committed to college to continue their athletic careers at a higher level. This year, seven students were recognized at the ceremony.
The seniors taking their talents to the collegiate level include Makenna Buffington, Kyla Conrad, Megan Foltz, Adison Geer, Delaney Greene, Gracyn Shutt, and Lexie Zaring.
Buffington will be attending Frostburg State University for Division II field hockey. She will be majoring in early childhood and elementary education.
Conrad and Shutt will both be attending Delaware Valley University for Division III field hockey. Conrad will be majoring in agricultural science while Shutt will be majoring in livestock animal science and minoring in agribusiness.
Foltz will be attending Penn State Harrisburg for Division III softball. She is majoring in criminal justice.
Geer is going to Ohio University for Division I field hockey. She will be majoring in nursing.
Greene will be going to East Stroudsburg University for Division II field hockey with an undeclared major.
Zaring is attending Messiah University for Division III field hockey. She will be majoring in elementary education.
